Photoshop fails happen, but when something as crazy as erasing the existence of people’s knees starts occurring, it’s time to really ask where society’s head is at. Social media queens and models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are the latest victims of photoshop. It’s unclear if it was intentional, or an EPIC editing error.
While the cover of W Magazine’s 10th anniversary art issue is artistically “strange”, the main thing that stands out is the lack of joints. Kendall’s rocking only one knee while it looks as if Gigi has lost both of hers. Ouch. The models were transported to a “whole other dimension” by artists Lizzie Fitch and Ryan Trecartin for the magazine’s spread, becoming “placebo pets”: “super-friendly, highly adaptive domesticated animals in a humanoid zoo.”Just.
What. Is. Going. On.W Magazine explained on Instagram that the cover and shootfor the Art Issue with the two models is meant to transform the two into “super friendly, domesticated humanoid pets.” That would explain the woman who looks like a dog in the right-corner of the cover.Is it fashion? Is it art? Is it a Photoshop fail? We’ll never know.At the end of the day who cares. Kendall and Gigi are kneeless and we must all be, too. Joints are so over, people. Smooth, immobile limbs are where it’s at.
