In the just concluded MTV MAMA Awards 2016which took place on saturday, 22nd of October in Johannesburg, SouthAfrica,Yemi Aladewas awarded an award forBest Female Artiste.While recieving the award she made a short speech dedicated to African women to contradite what her President, President Buhari said against his wife, saying she belongs to the kitchen.Read her short speech to African women below;“Give it up to all the African women in the building.“We’re not meant for the kitchen alone, we are not meant for the living room alone, we are not meant for the other roomalone.“We are hardworking women and webelong to the society too.“If not, I won’t be here receiving this award.”Yemi Alade didn’t justwin an award but she also co-hosted the award ceremony. Shefully represented her country to the fullest and she was not alone as her colleague,Wizkidalso wonBest Africa Artiste,Best Male and Best Collaboration.
