Over the last 10-15 months, we have witnessed the steady growth of pop singer Tekno into a full blown music star in the local industry with several hit songs and impressive performances home and abroad. It appears there’s even more to his career now with reports of him getting signed on to Sony Music, a move that’s fast becoming something of a norm in the local music industry.
Before now, we have seen the likes of Davido, Wizkid as well as Ycee get signed on to the label. Tekno who is currently signed on to Triple MG under Ubi Franklin is reported to be gearing up for a global record deal with the entertainment giant. Paul Okoye of Upfront And Personal shared a short clip to this effect on his Instagram page yesterday November 1, 2016 and it has set off a wave of speculations as Tekno was copied in the caption which read:“Sony music New York Global deal @teknoofficial @ubifranklintriplemg…”

This is really a welcome development in the Nigerian music industry and from all indications, there are even more artistes to be signed up in no time. Speculations are flying around but we really have to wait till it’s all materialistic before we make all such reports.
