Telemundo’s brand-new drama series, The Queen of Miami, not only brings us an action-packed storyline, but 70s-inspired fashion that has us wishing we could jump back in time. Here are just a few of our favourites that you have to look forward to.
Metallic Bodysuits
These metallic body suits were all the rage back in the 70s and we love how good this particular piece looks on our leading lady, Anastasia Cardona. The 70s was all about being loud, vibrant and expressing yourself through disco-inspired fashion items. Platform shoes were also hugely popular, and the higher the better! We love the pair Anastasia’s rocking and the best part is back in the 70s, no one worried about matching!
70s Safari
While many people know the 70s to be all about the hippie and disco-inspired styles, this chic bellbottom look was also exceedingly popular. This look was based very much on earth tones, relaxed silhouettes, patch pockets, and colourful belts. The show’s character, Analía Esparza, does this outfit justice and it suits her role in the show; a loving mother and doting wife, who turns a blind eye to her husband’s involvement in the drug industry.
Hippie Style
Daniela Wong plays Luciana Romero in The Queen of Miami, a youthful spirit who has always wanted to discover the world – it’s no wonder they’ve chosen a hippie-inspired look for her! This was one of the most famous styles of the 70s, the cuts were simple, and the style remained casual, but it was still bold and expressive. Denim, suede, bright prints and flares all played a significant role in the trend as well.
Disco Attire
Similar to the metallic bodysuits, this disco-inspired outfit was a huge part of the 70s and featured sequins, high-waisted pants and sometimes neon colours. This look, worn by the character Érica San Miguel, offered an element of luxury while being the perfect outfit choice for a night out on the town. A look that’s sure to get you noticed, you’ll soon discover that it’s the perfect choice for a wannabe movie star looking to make her way to the top.
Sporty Chic
Ana Osorio is Daytona Durán, a beauty with three invincible weapons: her youth, her fearlessness, and her determination. Plus, she’s rocking this sporty chic look! This trend combined comfort with style, for a relaxed yet elegant appearance. It featured casual wear with an athletic touch and outfits usually included jackets, sneakers and t-shirts.

Men’s 70s Fashion
As much as the ladies’ have us ogling over their outfit choices, it wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t include a little bit about the outfit choices for our leading men. Characters Conrado San Miguel and Adán Romero rocked these retro looks, that back then, were all the hype! From low-rise bell bottoms and platform shoes to leisure suits and bare chests, it’s said that the 70s were the peak of men’s fashion. We’ll let you decide that one on your own!
For even more 70s-inspired fashion choices that you’re sure to want to copy, tune into the premiere of The Queen of Miami, Monday 11 December at 9pm WAT/10pm CAT on Telemundo (DStv Channel 118).
