Coming from Omoni Oboli, the producer of the block buster movie “Okafor’s Law”, the best yet-to-be seen Nollywood movie that would score a massive box office goal in 2018 is “Wives on Strike: The Revolution”.
A backtrack into the success of the prequel “Wives on Strike” proves that Omoni Oboli has not just spoken in heresy. ‘Wives on Strike” prequel which premiered in April 2016, made a whopping 71, 300, 00 in millions of naira at box office. The movie sold 15 million naira in three days in its first weekend at the cinema. It, hence, became the first ever Nollywood movie to make such a record in the history of box office in Nigeria within three days.
The sequel, “Wives on Strike: The Revolution”, is an intellectual display of exquisite comedy from hilarious casts who have given their rib cracking piece.
Described as an evergreen entertaining and morale boosting movie, “Wives on Strike: The Revolution” follows up on the chronicles of the women’s fight against domestic violence, after one of them was beaten to death by her husband. This leads to yet another strike by the women against their husbands, forcing their hands to stand up for what is right.
Speaking with Omoni Oboli, she said, “Out of all the movies that I have produced so far, this is a movie that I am not afraid to go all the way. Thank you lovers of Omoni Oboli, Omoni loves you too”.
The movie features Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Uche Jombo, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agwu, Chioma Akpotha, Toyin Abraham, Chigul, Simply Saka, Odunlade Adekola, Sola Sobowale, Elvina Ibru, and many others.
Omoni Oboli, the multiple award winning producer, is the only Nollywood producer who has had back-to-back box office hit with four movies consecutively with movies such as, “Being Mrs. Elliot”, “First Lady”, “Okafor’s Law”, and “Wives on Strike”.
“Wives on Strike: The Revolution”, whose official trailer has been released earlier in the week, will have its premiere on December 29th; before it starts to take on tours in cinemas round the world come 2018.
