Veteran filmmaker Kirk Douglas was honored at the Golden Globes on Sunday night for his long career.
The 101-year-old Spartacus actor took to the stage with his daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta Jones, to present an award. Catherine, the wife of Kirk's actor son Michael, paid tribute to her father-in-law's career.
She said: "In 1991 my father in law, this living Hollywood legend Kirk, was recognised by the Writer's Guild Of America for his role in ending the Hollywood Blacklist."

The blacklist saw entertainment professionals denied work because they were accused of having Communist ties. She reminded the audience how Kirk hired the screenwriter Dalton Trumbo to write the Hollywood epic Spartacus, and insisted his name appear as writer.
Kirk responded to Catherine's words, although his speech was mostly inaudible.
He said: "Catherine, you said it all. I would have made a speech but I don’t want to say it."
He paused, and told Catherine with a smile: "I could never follow you."
