Nigerian singer, Niniola robbed of Cash and Jewellery at a restaurant in South Africa
Nigerian singer, Niniola, who is currently in South Africa promoting her latest single 'Magun', featuring gqom singer Busiswa, was reportedly robbed on Wednesday night, at McDonald’s restaurant in Grayston drive, Sandton.
The 'Maradona' singer was having a meal with two other friends when they were attacked by a gang of three armed robbers at the popular restaurant.
According to an eyewitness, Niniola’s bag and cell phone were taken while two of her friends were robbed of jewellery and cash worth R300,000 (N8,515,966.53)
Sandton police spokesman, Captain Granville Meyer, confirmed that a case of robbery was opened by Niniola’s friend on Wednesday night, Sowetanlive reported.
Meyer said the complainant alleged that he came from Sandton City after shopping and went to McDonald’s, where they were robbed by three men. “Jewellery and cash to an estimated value of R300000 was taken,” Meyer added.
McDonald's chief marketing and communications officer Daniel Padiachy confirmed that the incident took place and said no other customers or employees were injured.
"The safety of our customers and staff remains our first priority and we are working closely with the relevant authorities in their investigation," Padiachy said.

[Photos] Beyoncé 'buys her own church in New Orleans' weeks after over 900 peoples stormed the Grace Cathedral church to worship her
Superstar singer, Beyoncé, 36, has reportedly bought a church in New Orleans.
According to TMZ, Queen Bey's the new owner of a stone structured, 7,500 sq. ft house of God in The Big Easy. The New Orleans church which is more than 100-years-old was listed at $850,000 (£631,000) foot, and has been out of use as a religious place for a while.
The site also reported that the church was built in the early 1900s, but has been out of commission as a place of worship for some time due to its church members passing away.
The news comes weeks after San Francisco's Grace Cathedral Church held a 'Beyonce Mass' with more than 900 people in attendance to worship the singer

Pop star, Janet Jackson, made her first televised performance in nine years at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards which held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The 52-year-old singer and mother of one who put on a sexy and electrifying display on stage performed rendition of her 1986 mega-hit 'Nasty' and 1994's club smash 'Throb'.
For the performance, she was dressed in a sparkling golden sweater, teamed with high heeled boots and suspenders.
Janet Jackson was also presented with a prestigious Icon Award by singer Bruno Mars. She became the first ever black woman to receive the Billboard Icon Award in recognition of her long career.

The 2018 Billboard Music Awards celebrated some of music's biggest names on Sunday night. The ceremony was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, hosted by Kelly Clarkson.
The singer opened the show with a tribute to the victims of Friday's mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas. "I'm a Texas girl and my home state has had so much heartbreak over this past year. And once again, y'all, we're grieving for more kids that have died for just no reason at all," Clarkson said.
A number of artists took the stage to perform throughout the night, including John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande while Korean pop band BTS became the first-ever Korean act to perform at the ceremony, debuting their new single "Fake Love."
Janet Jackson, who received the Icon Award, gave her first TV performance in nine years and delivered a mashup of her hits. K

Pop singer, Janet Jackson, was honored with a prestigious Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
The award was presented by singer Bruno Mars, who knelt before the pop star to present the award to her, as she became the first ever black woman to receive the Billboard Icon Award in recognition of her long career.
“The name ‘Jackson’ represents artistic genius and iconic performance,” Bruno said while presenting the award. “The Jacksons are music royalty and the first family of entertainment…She is an activist… She’s a humanitarian. She’s a powerful woman. And she is the first black woman to receive the Billboard Icon Award.”
During her acceptance speech, Janet thanked the audience and made reference to the Me Too movement.
'I'm deeply humbled and grateful for this award. I believe that for all the challenges, for all our challenges we live in a glorious moment in history.'
'I believe that for all the challenges, for all our challenges, we live at a glorious moment in history,” she said. “It’s a moment where at long last, women have made it clear that we will no longer be controlled, manipulated or abused. I stand with those women and with those men equally outraged by discrimination who support us in heart and mind.”
Janet Jackson has now joined Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, and Cher on the list of Icon recipients.

MUSIC COPYRIGHT: Sir Victor Uwaifo threatens to sue Simi for 'Joromi' song theft
Legendary Musician, Sir Victor Uwaifo, says singer Simi, is in trouble for "stealing" his intellectual property, 'Joromi'.
Uwaifo who released the monster hit song 'Joromi' in 1969 says the song, which brought him fame and fortune, has now become a victim of intellectual property theft as Simi failed to give credit to him when she released her own version in 2017.
Uwaifo in an interview with SaharaReporters at the Annual General Meeting of Copyright Society of Nigeria COSON, held at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos described copyright and Intellectual property theft as a very serious issue in Nigeria, saying it must be dealt with urgently as it is reducing the creativity of the new generation of Musician.
According to him, the process of making music has now significantly changed from what it used to be in his time, as “more mediocres” are now in the game.
"Copyright is a very serious business and the contravention of copyright laws is more serious than you can imagine," the Professor of Art told to SaharaReporters. Most people still believe that someone can just pick somebody's work, which we call intellectual property right, and use it for his own benefit of the detriment of the composer, the man who actually created the work. You know it takes time to create a work; it takes a lot of research to be able to come out with a piece of work. You know one single track is equivalent to research journal and then a whole record is equivalent to a book publication, so people don’t understand it they don’t know. You don’t just wake up in the university then you just put anything down and you call it a journal or a book. It takes a lot of research to be able to do one piece of music. The composition, the lyrics, the music, the score, the arrangement, the production and booking of the studio all cost money, and someone will just come and take the work and use it as his own or probably do an advert on it.”
Uwaifo recalled how he sued Pepsi for N500million for using one of his songs in one of its adverts without following the due process. "Pepsi used my song 'Arabade,'" he said.
"I'm suing Pepsi for N500million; the case is already at the Federal High Court in Benin.” When asked if he was going to take any legal action against Simi, he replied: “One after the other. I cannot just take everybody to court at the same time. I don’t know whether he or she; I know she is but I know somebody is behind it. An LP was sent as a compliment; I'm still looking at it but they were planning to come to Benin to see me; up till now, they haven't come, so I'm just putting that one on hold. 'Joromi' is a franchise; the name never existed before. Benin don’t have “J” in their language; if any started with 'J' in Benin then it is fake. All consonant words start with vowel sounds. For example, if I use the trademark of one of these soft drinks, it is wrong. So Simi is in trouble.”

Dakingsweb Exclusive: Rihanna intruder told cops he was at her house just to have sex with her
A man was tased and arrested after he broke into Rihanna's house on Wednesday. After his arrest, the man told cops he was only there to have sex with her, not to steal or harm her.
Eduardo Leon, 26, disabled Rihanna's alarm system and entered into her house, where he stayed at least an entire day. He spent Wednesday night at Rihanna's house before he was arrested on Thursday morning after Rihanna's assistant found him inside her L.A. area house.
Rihanna apparently wasn't in Los Angeles when the intruder broke in. The police say Eduardo made himself at home and even charged his phone and unpacked his bag as he waited for her return.
When asked his reason for breaking into Riri's home, he told cops he was there to have sex with the singer, adding his plan was not to use force to make it happen.
Eduardo reportedly broke into another home on May 4 thinking it was Rihanna's. He's been booked for stalking, residential burglary, and trespassing.
He is being held in $150,000 bail.
