Governor Aminu Bello Masari says Igbos should shun BiafraGovernor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state, President Buhari’s ‘hometown’ has told Igbos in the north to drop all pro-Biafra agitations.

Masari advised the leadership of pan-Igbo cultural organisation Ohaneze NdIgbo that this is necessary in order for Igbos to leave peacefully with their northern neighbours.Masari appealed to Biafra agitators to consider the desires of larger percentage of the Igbos who prefer to earn their livelihood as Nigerians in every part of the country.Leadership reports that the governor gave the advice when the leadership of the group in the 19 northern statesand FCT led by Eze Pampas Nahiwe paid him a courtesy visit in Katsina.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader, who is also the Eze Ndigbo of Niger state said that the delegation was in Katsina to resolve the crisis within the Igbo community in state which iswithout a leader.He said the group had already enlisted the aid of the Emir of katsina, Alhaji Abdulmummuni kabir Usman to help in reconciling the factions in the Igbo community.Meanwhile, the Indigenous People ofBiafra (IPOB) on Sunday, October 2 said thatno independence exists in Nigeria.The group in a statement signed by Powerful Emma said the 56th independence anniversary marked byNigeria on Saturday, October 1 can only be described as an enslavementcelebration.The IPOB said, preparations and events which usually serve as a prelude to the annual celebration have tragically turned out to be more rusty than it have ever been.
